Environmental Benefits

Regulated Pollutants

The United States and other countries have worked for years to reduce emissions of pollutants. While exceptional progress has been made, there are clearly opportunities for more improvement. There are some areas where pollutants still exceed National Ambient Air Quality Standards such as certain ports, airports and other transportation centers.

When comparing the emissions from synthetic fuels (similar to RenJet® and RenDiesel®) to those from petroleum-based fuels, a Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) study shows significantly lower amounts of pollutants, including reductions in NOX, SOX and particulates. The chart below illustrates the significant reduction in emissions based on testing by the U.S. military. RenJet and RenDiesel can have a major impact on overall air quality, especially for those living near areas which do not meet current air quality standards.
