Products
Numerous by-products are produced at our synthetic fuels and chemicals facilities from the various equipment used during the production process. But unlike a conventional coal power plant which emits impurities into the air, these by-products are sold to industrial markets and generate revenue in addition to the sale of synthetic fuels and chemicals at the facilities. Below is a summary of by-products produced at a typical synthetic fuels and chemicals facility and their respective industrial markets.
Rare gases from the Air Separation Unit (ASU):
Potential Customers: Atmospheric, process and specialty gases customers, steel manufacturers
Slag from the Gasifiers.
Potential Customers: Paving and roof shingle manufacturers
Spent catalyst from Rentech Process
Potential customers: Steel producers
Chemicals from Upgrading Unit:
Potential Customers: Local distributors, combustion turbines for the production of electricity
Products from Gas Clean-up Unit:
Potential customers: Enhanced oil recovery opportunities, natural gas producers, food customers
Sulfur or Sulfuric Acid from the Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU):
